What are Parents Saying about SUMCD?

Parents have a lot to say about SUMCD programs, services, and staff. It makes us so happy to hear from them…here are a few comments we wanted to share:

Today my daughter finished her last day at the Mifflinburg Children’s Center. 13 1/2 years ago my first child started at the center. An amazing place with very caring and loving staff that were instrumental in the early years of each of my three children’s lives! You were a huge part of them growing into the caring, loving and amazing children that they are today. Thank you! ~ Stacey Willow-White

My daughters are in their second year of preschool and absolutely love their teachers. They love going to school and have such a great time. They have learned so much! ~Jamie Snyder

Love Coleman head start and every teacher there. ~ Savanna Walker

Incredible staff and facility. My child couldn’t be happier or more engaged! ~ Jessica Owens Pastuszek

The teachers are incredibly dedicated and caring individuals. There was no question where we wanted our kids to go to learn, have fun, and have the greatest care providers in the area. ~ Gretchen Croteau

I am a parent of twin girls that attended the preschool head start program and I just wanna say thank u so very much. The girls and I have never felt more welcome in a new place. The girls made so many friends! ~ Melissa Witter

We absolutely love it! The care and education can’t be beat. ~ Anna Trayer

Families Unite for Head Start – Washington DC

How exciting… We were represented in Washington DC at the Families Unite for Head Start Rally and Hill Day. The Pennsylvania Head Start Association organized a bus trip for families and staff across the State to travel to the U.S. Capital. They joined people from across the country to make their voices heard by participating in a Head Start spirit rally on Capitol Hill which featured Head Start Ambassadors, Members of Congress, and other special guests. Following the rally, participants walked to the US House of Representatives and the US Senate to meet with Members of Congress.

Two staff – Shannon Noland and Jodi Fellman – joined parent Lisa Ryan and rode the bus from Harrisburg to DC for a day long adventure. They shared important information including personal stories of how Head Start benefits families and children, and additional funding needs – with staff from the offices of Pat Toomey and Bob Casey.

We thank them for taking time to advocate for this imporant cause – early childhood education!
