Board of Directors

SUMCD is governed by a Board of Directors. Directors may serve three 3-year terms before they must rotate off the Board. These term limits were established to guarantee the addition of new members with new ideas to keep the organization vibrant and dynamic.

Members represent a variety of businesses and occupations, which serves to bring a wide breadth of knowledge and skills to SUMCD from the broader community. We try to maintain about one-third of the members as past or current parents of children served.

The Board has fiduciary responsibility for SUMCD as well as for establishing program budgets, financial monitoring and oversight, policy, approving funding applications, program evaluation, short- and long-range planning, assisting with personnel management, and more.
