Operations Director

The Operations Director will provide leadership, management, and vision necessary to ensure that SUMCD has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and support systems in place to effectively grow the organization and to operate efficiently. This position will provide leadership and oversight of agency support systems, specifically the Building and Grounds, Data/Quality Assurance, Information/Technology, and Transportation.

Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or related field. In lieu of an Associate’s degree,
5 consecutive year experience will be considered.
Minimum five years’ experience in project management.
Minimum three years supervisory experience.

Assistant Executive Director
Exciting opportunity to serve as the lead role in the oversight and management of SUMCD’s programs and services, including but not limited to Family and Community Engagement, Outreach and Enrollment, Childcare, Early Head Start, Head Start, Healthy Families America, Head Start Supplemental Assistance Program (HSSAP), Maternal Infant Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV), and Pre-K Counts, to assume responsibility for overall functioning and effectiveness. Ensure compliance with reporting and program operations per federal, state and local grant requirements, regulations and Performance Standards, and other guidance and accreditation requirements. As part of the Executive Management Team, assist with agency grants, budget, and policy development and implementation. Participate in and stay informed of upper management issues which highlight the goals, objectives, and activities of the agency programs. In absence of CEO take lead role.

Outreach Specialist
Full time position marketing SUMCD programs and providing excellent customer service to prospective and current clients for an agency which provides high quality early childhood education services in Snyder, Union, and Mifflin counties. Office location in Mifflinburg.

Must have the ability to work with cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic diverse populations, work independently and be able to manage multiple projects, plus have excellent verbal and written communication skills, office management and data system skills.

Employment Opportunities in Mifflin County

COOK: The Coleman Children’s Center is looking for a cook to prepare, cook and serve breakfast, lunch and snack to preschool children in the head start program. This position also includes the daily clean up of dishes and the kitchen. Weekly grocery shopping is also a duty of the cook, which requires the candidate to have a valid driver’s license.
