Snyder Union Mifflin Child Development, Inc. Educational Coach:  Implements practice based processes for supporting staff’s use of effective practices that lead to positive outcomes for children and families. Seeking experienced individuals with a minimum of two years experience in early childhood and experience in adult education and training. Must have a strong belief in the value of early childhood education and the ability to work well with others. Must be willing to travel across all agency locations.

Required:  Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field and minimum of 2 years’ experience in early childhood.

Preferred: Minimum 5 years’ experience in early childhood and experience in adult education and training.

Preschool Head Teacher: Full time position at Susquehanna Children’s Center, for an agency which provides high quality early childhood education services in Snyder, Union, and Mifflin counties. The Head Teacher is responsible for managing all aspects of services planning, coordination, record keeping, problem solving, and communication to ensure delivery of a quality early childhood education program in compliance with all applicable regulations for enrolled children and families.

Must have the ability to work with cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic diverse populations, work independently, plus have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Requirements that must be satisfied prior to hire: a) education qualifications as listed below; prefer experience working with preschool children and supervisory experience b) proof of degree/certification and experience to meet the qualifications of the position, c) Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record check, d) successful completion of pre-employment physical examination which includes a Tuberculosis screening. Agency Nurse: Full time, Monday through Friday, 8 hours/day position. Assist in implementing the Health/Nutrition program services, including medical, dental, and nutrition subparts; plus assist in coordinating health services with all other programs services, for agency which provides services for Head Start, Pre-K Counts, and Child Care program. Position will work with families primarily in the Snyder County area. Assistant Teachers: Full time positions in  a preschool setting and part time positions working with school age children. Assist in the classroom helping to deliver services to a group of children and their families, maintain discipline and help children on bus as needed. Assist in implementation of the curriculum and daily plans and provide safe environment in the center.

Required: High school diploma or equivalent, 2 years of experience in early childhood education (ECE) programs, agreement to enroll in a CDA/AA degree college program after completion of provisional employment period, willingness to learn, interest in child development, flexible personality and enjoy variety in daily work routines.
Above required qualifications with adjusted compensation: CDA, AA/AS in ECE, AA/AS in related field (chld development, special education, elementary education, or human services) with 12 ECE credits, or BA/BS in ECE, or BA/BS in related field with 12 ECE credits.

Early Head Start Assistant Coordinator: Middle management position for an agency which provides high quality early childhood education services in multiple counties. The successful candidate will manage and oversee the daily functioning of  EHS services. Coordinate programs, services, and staff in both the center- and home-based services. Serve as liaison to agency partners serving Early Head Start children with Individual Family Service Plans and/or active enrollment in specialized services, etc. (such as, Intermediate Unit, Mental Health organizations). A strong belief in the value of early childhood education and Head Start/Early Head Start programs;  Problem solving, group facilitation, and the ability to work well with others; Child Development curricula. Experience with Head Start regulations preferred.

Education and Experience Required:

Enrollment Specialist: based out of the Lewistown Children’s Center, Lewistown PA. Responsible for  marketing SUMCD programs and provide excellent customer service to prospective and current clients. Maintain full enrollment in programs by efficiently and effectively assisting families in program selection, collecting required enrollment documentation, enrolling children, and transitioning children to program staff. Maintain wait lists and enrollment information in data systems and child files.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE — Required: high school diploma or GED, plus 5 years experience as an administrative assistant, marketing/sales or related office and customer service experience. Preferred: Associate’s degree and 2 years professional administrative/customer service experience.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS — Ability to work with cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic diverse populations; ability to work independently managing multiple projects; excellent verbal and written communication skills; office management skills.
