Summary of Duties: Full time position (240 days/year, Monday through Friday, 8 hours/day) for our agency which provides high quality early childhood education services in Snyder, Union, and Mifflin counties. Facilitate relationships among the home, the parents, community agencies, and resources and the staff in Head Start classes. Provide a planned program of experience and activities that support and enhance the parents’ role as the principal influence in their child’s education and development within the Head Start program. Must have the ability to work with cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic diverse populations, work independently plus have excellent verbal and written communication skills plus office management skills. Knowledge and skills required; ability to communicate effectively; willingness to learn; motivation and self-discipline to learn independently.
Education and Background Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field; or Associate’s degree in human services related degree; or High school diploma or equivalent. Prefer experience working with families. ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT AT LEWISBURG CHILDREN’S CENTER
Location:  Lewisburg

Summary of Duties: SUMCD is seeking a motivated, energetic person to join our office team. The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, be a self-starter, with excellent time management and organizational skills. This position will perform administrative and clerical work in support of the day-to-day operations of the Lewisburg Children’s Center. Must be flexible, able to work with distraction and noise, and enjoy working in an environment where children are located. Work will be performed under general rather than specific instructions, and successful candidate must be familiar and comfortable with current technology. Starting salary range is $10.19 – $10.60/hour. 30 hours/week. BUS MONITOR for Pre-School Children

If you are looking for a full-time position and have an interest and concern for children and their families, we have the job for you. Assist with the children on the bus, making the bus ride an enjoyable learning time; relay messages from parents to center and center to parents and help children on and off the bus. 7 hours/day and 260 days/year. This entry-level position may lead to working in the classroom.

Summary of Duties: 
In a center-based early childhood classroom, the teacher is responsible for collaborating with the classroom’s teacher in managing all aspects of services planning, coordination, recordkeeping, problem solving, and communication to ensure delivery of a quality early childhood education program in compliance with all applicable regulations for enrolled children and families.
Qualifications: Minimum of a Child Development Credential; prefer AA/AS in early childhood education (ECE), or AA/AS in related field (child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services) with 30 ECE credits; or BA/BS in ECE, or BA/BS in related field with 30 ECE credits.
