Excellent opportunity to be in a middle management position for an agency which provides high quality early childhood education services in multiple counties.  Position manages and oversees the daily functioning of the early childhood education services of a children’s center.  Coordinates programs, services, and staff within the building.  Functions as named Center Director for Department of Human Services (DHS), and STARS regulations. Experience with Head Start regulations preferred. Salary range starts at $34,481 depending upon qualifications. Required: Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field, with a minimum of 30 credits in early childhood education, minimum of 2 years’ experience in an early childhood setting, and at least 1 year of management/supervisory experience in early childhood education programs. Must obtain PA Keystone STARS Director certificate within 2 ½ years of hire, beginning the process within 6 months of starting the position.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, at least 2 years of management/supervisory experience in early childhood programs, and possess PA Keystone STARS Director certificate.

Administrative Assistant III: SUMCD is seeking a highly motivated, energetic person to join our office team for 35-40 hours/week. The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, be a self-starter, with excellent time-management and organizational skills. This position will perform administrative and clerical work in support of the day-to-day operations of the Central Office. Must be flexible and willing to contribute where needed. Work will be performed under general rather than specific instructions, and successful candidate must be familiar and comfortable with current technology. Minimum requirement of an associate’s degree in social sciences, business management, or related discipline plus at least 4 years experience in the community services/non-profit sector. In lieu of the required degree, 10+ years of experience in a high paced work environment with increased responsibility may be considered. Starting salary range is $12.18 – $12.67/hour. This is an excellent opportunity for those who meet at least the minimum qualifications of a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of experience working with young children. There are opportunities for continuing education in Early Childhood Education. A CDA (Child Development Associate) or Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred. Cook/Custodian: seeking a motivated individual to cook/serve meals and clean for the Head Start program at the McVeytown Center.
