Behavioral Health Specialist — Provide home-based parent-infant support and intervention services to families through broad coverage of theoretical/conceptual and applied issues necessary for understanding infant-parent relationships and infant and toddler social and emotional development. The position will focus on nurturing and enhancing the parent/child relationship to increase bonding and attachment, promote child and family health and well-being, prevent adverse childhood experiences and support family functioning for reunification, and reduce time in care. Must have a minimum of 1 year’s experience working with pregnant women and families with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers and 2 years experience working with at risk families for abuse and neglect including emergency assistance, crisis intervention, advocacy, and behavioral health support. Prefer 1 year experience in home visiting.

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or Human Services Specialized training in Mental Health, Infant-Toddler Development, Family Dynamics and Functioning, Crisis Intervention, Infant Mental Health, Trauma Informed Practice
  2. Minimum 1 year experience with pregnant women and families with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers
  3. Minimum 2 years experience working with at risk families for abuse and neglect including emergency assistance, crisis intervention, advocacy, and behavioral health support

Preferred: Master’s Degree in Infant Mental Health, Social Work, Sociology, or Psychology; or Certification in Counseling or Infant Mental Health

Preschool Assistant Teachers Needed: We are looking for one full time assistant teacher/bus monitor, 35 hours/week with benefits and one part time assistant teacher, 25 hours/week for the new preschool classroom that will be located at the Compass Building in Lewistown. Both positions require a high school diploma or equivalent. An associates degree or CDA and experience working with preschool children is preferred. Short-term Temporary Early Head Start Home Visitor: in-home services to low income families in Mifflin County, promoting parent education and the development of infants and toddlers. A minimum of a CDA in home-based or infant/toddler is required. Experience working with families, infants and toddlers in a home based setting is preferred. Starting wage $12.69 to $14.87/hour depending on education and experience; 8 hours/day. This is a temporary position.
