Family Support Assistant: Full time position. Responsibilities include facilitating relationships among the home, the parents, community agencies, and resources and the staff in Head Start classes. Successful candidate will provide a planned program of experience and activities that support and enhance the parents’ role as the principal influence in their child’s education and development within the Head Start program. 200 days/year, $9.64 – $10.03/hour dependent upon qualifications.  Required:  High school diploma or equivalent; Preferred:  Associate’s degree in Human Services or related field plus experience working with families. Excellent opportunity to be in a middle management position for an agency which provides high quality early childhood education services in multiple counties.  Position manages and oversees the daily functioning of the early childhood education services of a children’s center.  Coordinates programs, services, and staff within the building.  Functions as named Center Director for Department of Human Services (DHS), and STARS regulations. Experience with Head Start regulations preferred. Salary range starts at $34,481 depending upon qualifications. Required: Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field, with a minimum of 30 credits in early childhood education, minimum of 2 years of experience in an early childhood setting, and at least 1 year of management/supervisory experience in early childhood education programs. Must obtain PA Keystone STARS Director certificate within 2 ½ years of hire, beginning the process within 6 months of starting the position.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, at least 2 years of management/supervisory experience in early childhood programs, and possess PA Keystone STARS Director certificate.

School-age Program – Full Time and Part Time Teacher and Assistant Teacher Positions: SUMCD’s Center for School-age Development (CSD) is seeking staff for various Teacher and Assistant Teacher positions (FT and PT), working with school age children. Positions may be available in Snyder, Union, and Northumberland counties. Must have high school diploma or equivalent; prefer experience and Associates degree. $8.48 – $9.42/hour depending on experience and qualifications for assistant teacher positions; $10.62 – $14.84/hour for teacher level positions. Family and Community Resource Specialist – Healthy Families America (HFA) program:  full time position to initiate initial and on-going community outreach and recruitment for HFA.  Conduct and complete assessment to determine eligibility for HFA. Provide resources.  Facilitate relationships among the parent, community agencies and HFA staff. Within the HFA guidelines, provide a planned program of experiences and activities that support and enhance the parents’ role as the principal influence in their child’s nurturing and development. Education/Experience Required: An associates degree in social work, public relations/marketing or related field is required. A strong belief in the value of early childhood education and home visiting programs. Preferred Education/Experience: One year of experience in home visiting and a Bachelors degree in social work, public relations/marketing or related field or a nursing background and experience in pediatrics or obstetrics/gynecology. This is a full-time position starting at $12.69 to $14.34/hour depending on education and experience. Benefits included. This is an excellent opportunity for those who meet at least the minimum qualifications of a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of experience working with young children.
